Mrs. Cole is looking for work as her disabled husband a painter can’t support them. A comic piece she has written is seen by a film writer who then suggests her to the Ministry of information. She and her coworkers are to write a positive film(An uplifting film) in the state of the war. The film depicts the ups and downs of the writing of an epic film and Mrs. Cole’s role as ‘wife’/lover, writer, friend and colleague. It’s very cool to see how the film writing politics goes about ie the interaction between the writers, directors, and actors and the subject matter itself.
